Our goals

Animalia has three main targets: animal experimentation, factory farming and fur farming. Within our resources, we also work on other areas of animal protection.

- Animalia's goal is a world without animal experimentation. First and foremost, Animalia focuses on banning animal testing that causes animals pain and suffering and experimentation that is weakly justified. This should be done immediately. Animalia promotes the development of alternatives to animal testing and altering the practices of science and healthcare in such a way as to increase the wellbeing of humans and animals without animal experimentation. As long as animal testing is conducted, it must be seen to that tests do not cause animals suffering and that as few animals as possible are used. In addition, the living conditions of animals must fit their mental and physical needs in the best possible way.

- In the name of efficiency, animals have been turned into “machines” in modern agricultural production. They must spend their whole lives in confined spaces with hardly any stimulation and have extremely limited possibilities of fulfilling their natural behaviour. Animalia is against factory farming and demans that animals' wellbeing be taken more seriously into consideration in animal production. Animalia encourages people to become vegetarian. If for some reason this is not possible, it is better to buy non-factory farmed animal products. Animal wellbeing cannot be sacrificed because of economic efficiency. The number of individuals used in animal production must be continuously decreased.

- In fur farming, animals are deprived of the possibility to fulfill many forms of their natural behaviour. Therefore, their wellbeing problems are great. Fur is a luxury product that is produced only because of the vanity of humans: a modern human does not need a fur to keep warm. Nowadays, most fur is sold as fur trim. In fur production, a mutually respectful life together of humans and animals is not possible, and Animalia aims at banning fur farming through legislation.
